Toasting the Blue Moon While Ringing in a Clean Slate

When you hear someone say "Once in a Blue Moon…" you know what they mean: Rare. Seldom. Maybe even absurd. After all, when was the last time you saw the moon turn blue?

A blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. Usually months have only one full moon, but occasionally a second one sneaks in. Full moons are separated by 29 days, while most months are 30 or 31 days long; so it is possible to fit two full moons in a single month. This happens every two and a half years, on average.  But this year, it is on New Year's Eve, which hasn't happened in about 20 years.

So this New Year's Eve is especially special.  Toasting to the blue moon while ringing in a clean slate.  Yes, I like it.  I like it alot.

A clean slate:  No more of this decade.  Start fresh, start new.   Let's shake it off like an old, dirty coat and step into the new decade with hope, promise and knowing that anything is possible.  Our future is not written in stone.  The future and time are fluid.  Anything is within reach.  And I don't mean the gluttony of the past decade.  I mean true, honest happiness.  The happiness that comes from within, not from the wallet, because if we have learned anything, it is that money cannot buy happiness.  Happiness comes from your heart and your soul.  Only you can make you happy.  Only you can decide to be happy.   We tend to seek happiness when happiness is actually a choice.  I agree to that saying somewhat, not completely, as there is such a thing as clinical depression.  My interpretation of that saying is know what you are grateful for.  Even if you think you have nothing, or very little of anything, if you try to make a list of 20 things you are grateful for, I bet you can't stop at just 20.  And when you are halfway through that list, you will find happiness.

Are you going to make any resolutions this year?  This year is a good year to make resolutions.  It's not just a blue moon, it is a Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse!  According to Magical Manifesting for The Blue Moon your New Year's resolutions on December 31, 2009 will be more powerful than a super nova. Their vibration will surpass space and time.

What are my resolutions?  To start on the merry road to a college degree, something I have always wanted.  Also, to get the quiet, charming apartment upstairs with a view of the Bay.  I have some other ones too, but those are my two main goals.
